Spring is already here, and that means spring cleaning! Spring cleaning often results in finding things that you no longer need, and either tossing them out, donating them, or . . . selling it at garage sales once the weather gets better.

Well, you don't have to wait for the weather to get better for the SLA Garage Sale , which will run through the end of May!

Here is how this idea will work:

1) Find items around your house that you want to get rid of
2) Determine the cost for packaging (boxes and other material), and shipping
3) Take pictures (if you can), and list your item on eBay to sell
4) If you are listing an item, post it on http://tenforward.slasims.com/viewtopic.php?f=189&t=16866 so everyone can see what you're selling in case they want to buy it
5) If anyone bids on and wins your auction, then:
a. You collect the funds, as you would with any eBay auction
b. You ship the item to the directly winner
c. You keep the cost for the packaging and shipping (to recoup your costs)
d. You donate the amount that the item sold for to our Paypal account (finance@slasims.com)

You're the one handling all of the transactions, with no middle men at all! No need to ship it to someone else to list it on eBay for you.

Remember, your donation will help to pay for our fees with our web hosting company and domain renewals, which will keep our site live and going . . . hopefully for many years to come with all of your help!

» Site Upgrade

Just to let everyone know, the upgrade from SMS to Nova will take place at approximately 11am Eastern (10am Central/9am Mountain/8am Pacific for those of you keeping track). The site will go down around that time and be inaccessible until the upgrade is completed.

Any joint posts that may have been started and saved should carry over to the new site, although it doesn't hurt to take the time now to go in and save your progress so far into a Word document so you won't lose anything.

Once the upgrade is complete, Commander Jarrold Scott will send out an e-mail to let everyone know that it's all clear, and then also send you a private message with login instructions.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Zania or Jarrold via IMs or e-mail in the interim!

» Posting Contest Update & Website News!

We've managed to gain several new crew members recently. In order to give them a chance to also participate, we're extending the deadline of the posting contest until May 30th! That gives another whole month for you to be able to post up a storm and make yourself eligible to win one of the prizes!

Also, we're going to be converting the site over from SMS to the new Nova system from Anodyne Productions. Nova is the next generation of SMS, with some powerful features which I think we're all going to really enjoy!

Commander Jarrold Scott, who is our web guru, can tell you all about it, but some of the features that will be immediately apparent include:

1) Managing multiple characters with one account
2) Built-in wiki
3) The ability to use images on the site and wiki from other sites (i.e. Imageshack, Photobucket, etc)
4) The ability to upload your own images with ease, for your character bio, missions, etc

And that's not all! Stay tuned for more updates on the change to Nova!

It is time to trim the roster a bit. Many people who hold positions on this crew have not posted in ages, and I would like for everyone to indicate to me whether or not they are interested in continuing on as a member of the Zealous crew.
